Natives of Donegal often describe their home as “the forgotten county of Ireland”, as although it is part of the Republic of Ireland, it is tucked away in the North-West, far away from the cities of Dublin, Cork and Galway. However, Donegal’s greatest draw is its natural beauty; unspoilt beaches, still loughs, clouded peaks and lush green valleys. The Donegal food is good too; often fresh from the daily catch brought in on the morning’s boats or oysters farmed in the bay.
